Leading Total Poise Associates, a professional firm of human resources and organization development consultants in Africa is Dr. O. Akin-Ogundeji. A versatile, first-class human resources and organization development consultant, Akin holds PhD of the University of London at Britain's pioneer Department of Occupational Psychology of Birkbeck College. He has over 25 years human resources and organization development consulting experience in Nigeria and the West Coast of Africa. He has consulted for over 100 organizations in diverse industries and in the public sector. He led many organization development consultants as head of Organization Development practice of KPMG in Nigeria and parts of West Africa for several years. Before then, he led some human resources consultants as head of the Human Capital practice of Ernst & Young in Nigeria. He has taught Industrial Psychology, Social Psychology, Human Resources Management/Personnel Psychology, and Organizational Behavior at both undergraduate and graduate levels in two top rated Universities in Nigeria. Since leaving KPMG in 1998, he has consulted independently in the areas of strategic organization development, performance management, general management, human resources systems review and human capital management,team building. Thus, he has for many years led a good number of human resources and organization development consultants in Africa. He also leads the Lagos based Psychology Associates. His forte is the renewal and re-energizing of organizational, managerial, and human resource systems, policies, and processes. The main thrust of his professional approach is strategic management of organizational, managerial and human resource systems and processes for sustainable high performance, corporate growth and excellence. His personal philosophy is ‘the pursuit of excellence,’ which influences his personal and professional style. He has published academic and professional articles in such international journals as International Journal of Manpower, Managerial Psychology, Industrial and Commercial Training, Journal of European Industrial Training, and The Psychologist (British).
